Dr. Mark Hein, is a graduate of the "Charter Class" of University-Wisconsin School of Veterianary Medicine and works closely with this group on referrals in chemotherapy, orthopedics and ophthalmology. Dr. Hein was the first veretinarian to offer laser surgery to pet owners in the La Crosse area as an alternative to more painful conventional surgeries. Dr. Hein also founded the Onalaska based PETCO walk-in clinics in 1995 where clients may see a veterianrian during evening hours withour an appointment. Dr. Hein enjoys orthopedics, archery and organic farming.
Dr. Hein was first to introduce pulse therapy K-Laser for pain relief to the animals of the LaCrosse area .
Dr Hein is proud of his golden retriever, 2 cats and 4 children, African Grey Parrot and 5 horses |

Dustin Borkosky, DVM

Dr. Borkosky joined our team in 2010 and comes to us with 4 years of experience in emergency medicine where he last practiced in Cleveland, OH. Dr. Dustin is very experienced in both ultrasound and digital radiology. His background in clinical practice and emergency medicine make him an incredible asset to veterinary medicine in the LaCrosse area. We are extremely proud to have him as a member of our team. His wife Sara has joined the Gunderson Lutheran team in podiatry[intern]. Together, they enjoy their horses, 2 dogs[ Hero and Bones], hiking our bluffs, soccer and NCIS[Mark Harmen] |

Heather Hutchings |
Heather is the office manager at Van Loon Animal Hospital. She has her bachelors degree in Cellular Molecular Biology from Winona State University and prior to that graduated from LaCrescent High School. She enjoys riding her horse and being outside and aspires to be at veterinarian in the near future. j |

Chris Buchanan |
Chris has groomed with Van Loon Animal Hospital for the past 12 years and has
been employed as a doctor assistant loyaly for the past 14 years.
Chris enjoys grooming her poodle , boxer and Chinese Crested Powder Puff while not attending to her three beautiful children, Ricky, Grace and Jonah. Chris grew up in Holmen and comes all the way from Rushford to join us. |
Rachel Cantlon

Rachel has been both a kennel attendant and doctor assistant for Dr. Hein for the past 3 years. She is a proud graduate of Holmen High School and is currently enrolled in Pre-Pharmacy at University - Duluth- Minnesota. We love Rachels smile and so do our clients! |

Emily is currently in training, she is learing everything from digital radiology to chemical laboratory analysis and house keeping, keep it up Emily ! |

Cally Anne Hein |
Cally , daughter of Dr. Hein works as a kennel attendant. Cally is a senior at Gale- Ettrick- Trempealeau High School and resides in Trempealeau with the Hein family.
Cally enjoys the Hein family horses and can frequently be seen riding the grounds with "Sunny," her Paint Quarterhorse. Cally enjoys Englisha and Western riding. |

Sara if studying at Globe University and on line to achieve her degree as a veterinary technician. She works with us as both as technician and receptionist in her spare time and her smile is appreciated by all. |
